Positive Economic News Over Six Months
Inflation crisis has been defeated! Prices for goods and services were flat in June. Core inflation has been lower than expected in June. Wages have been growing. Prices are falling for everyday Americans: for new and used vehicles, gas, fuel, hotels, airfares, public transportation and fresh vegetables.
Powerful Tariffs
Rebalance America’s trading agreements. Tariffs were not inflationary, but in reality, they were sources of massive revenues. Tariffs have resulted in trillions of dollars in private investments poured into the US economy. Customs and tariffs revenue have amounted to more than $113 Billion, since President Trump entered office, thus helping to lead to a budget surplus in June.
No Amnesty
While there is a bipartisan initiative afoot among some lawmakers, President Trump opposes amnesty for illegal aliens.
No Special Prosecutor for Epstein Investigation
The president supports the Attorney General releasing any more credible information should more be found, in relation to Jeffrey Epstein. Leavitt argued that President Trump does not support calls for a special prosecutor and stressed that he has been transparent.
President Trump is Healthy
Recently, the president underwent a compressive medical examination for mild swelling on his lower legs and a bruise on his right hand. The medical report revealed President Trump was in excellent health.
Success on the Southern Border
The closure of the border was another example of the president keeping his word and another win for the American people. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) provided the final operational stats on the border, for the month of June. They submitted that there were only 6,072 South-West apprehensions in June. Zero illegal aliens released along the South-West border into the US, in the second consecutive month in a row. Borders are sealed. Deportations are up.
In closing, President Trump signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law on Wednesday July 16th. It was a bipartisan legislation. Its goal is to stop the sale and use of this drug in America. Anyone who imports or manufactures fentanyl will be criminally prosecuted.
The Senate passed a $9 Billion rescission package. Leavitt called on Congress to also pass the Bill so that President Trump could sign it into law. This Bill will claw-back taxpayer funding for PBS and NPR and help restore fiscal sanity.
Leavitt also contended President Trump continues to deliver for the American people.
