President Donald Trump Meets Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Back to Back Monday and Tuesday

President Trump during his Cabinet Meeting on Tuesday July 8th in response to the press acknowledged that Prime Minister Netanyahu will be returning to the White House on Tuesday evening for further talks on Gaza.

President Trump described Prime Minister Netanyahu as a hard worker and said the trials he’s facing in court, in Israel, were unfair.

President Trump then asked Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to comment on the plans for a Gaza ceasefire. Witkoff submitted that they were in proximity talks and stated that they hope to have a 60-day ceasefire in place, soon. During which they were expecting to have a number of hostages released: 10 living hostages and nine deceased persons. 

 

Monday July 7th

White House Press Briefing with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

The Briefing was wide ranging beginning with the catastrophic flooding in Texas which has taken the lives of over 100 persons including a number of girls from a summer camp. President Trump is expected visit Texas in days to come. She also addressed the President’s tariff letters to Heads of State and Heads of Government and added that the President will host five African leaders at lunch at the White House on Wednesday. She spoke about the passing of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), jobs beating expectations in June. Border security, men out of women’s sports, NATO increased contributions, peace negotiations among a number of parties and US assistance to Israel in the 12 Day War and so forth.

Prime Minister Netanyahu was invited to a private dinner with President Trump on Monday and concerning the dinner Leavitt argued that the two sides were slated to discuss the positive developments taking place in the region.

She maintained that the utmost priority of the president in the Middle East was to end the war in Gaza and to return all the hostages.

Leavitt also emphasized that there was a ceasefire proposal that Israel supported and the same was sent to Hamas. US hopes that Hamas will agree to the proposal.

She contended that the Administration wants to see all the hostages released and that this was at the top of the president’s mind.

She further noted that Special Envoy Witkoff was set to travel to Doha later this week where he’ll continue to engage in these discussions.

Moreover, Leavitt informed that the Qataris and the Egyptians were incredible in mediating these discussions to bring peace to this region.

Finally, she stressed that the president wants Gaza to be a safe part of the region where people and families can thrive. And that, after the conflict there will be a need for a real rebuilding effort when the time comes. Right now, the war needs to end, and all of the hostages brought home, she reiterated.
