President Trump and First Lady Melania Hosted President Xi and Madame Peng of China on their Three-Day State Visit to the US
China’s President Xi Jinping and his wife Madame Peng arrived in the US on September 23rd and they departed on September 25th.
President Trump and First Lady Melania were commended by President Xi for their perfect hosting. President Trump called it a tremendous visit from two fantastic people and added that they really enjoyed the visit of his Chinese counterpart. Further, he stated the two sides made great strides for both countries.
President Xi thanked the President and the First Lady for everything they did for him and his wife, Madame Peng. He also underscored that during their visit everything was done to the highest order of perfection and there was thought in every little detail, which they greatly appreciated.
The Chinese President also noted that President Trump and himself were chartering the great ship of US-China Relations. He referenced President Trump’s visit to China in May and their agreement then. In addition, he stressed that this time they have agreed to add new substance to it; that their relationship would be a constructive one of strategic stability on the basis of respect, fairness and reciprocity.
Lastly, the two leaders are expected to meet twice again in this year, during international meetings. The first will be at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, in November, in China and the other will be during the G20 Meeting, in December, in Miami, FL.
