White House Demands Democrats End 30 Day Shutdown
Vice President J D Vance during a Press Conference in the White House Grounds called out the Democrats for shutting down the US Government. He said the Republicans need five more Democrats to join the three moderate Democrats and the 52 Republicans who have the desire and willingness to reopen the government.
The Vice President spoke to the fact that the aviation industry was gravely impacted and that in multiple areas staffers were suffering. He’s worried that these employees were not getting their pay checks, including TSA workers, Air Traffic Controllers, Pilots and others who were also vital to the industry.
Furthermore, the Vice President demanded that the Democrats open the government. Stop this craziness, and open the government, he stressed. It’s costing too many problems, he added.
Likewise, VP Vance pointed out that they have had multiple votes to reopen the government. The House of Representatives has voted affirmatively to reopen the United States Government. Fifty-Two Republicans and three Democrats have consistently voted to reopen the Unites States Government, but they need 60 votes.
VP Vance further argued: All the Administration needs was five reasonable Democrats to join the three moderate Democrats and the 52 Republicans to vote to reopen the government to pay all the employees in the aviation industry, and for Food Stamp benefits to continue to go out.
He emphasized that the Administration was happy to talk about any policy issues with the Democrats. They would be happy to speak about health care policy, tax policy, and regulatory policy, but not at the point of a gun. He contended that the Democrats do not get to take the American people’s government hostage and demand that the government give them everything. He described their demands as ridiculous.
Additionally, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy added that this shutdown has impact on aerospace, on travelers, and on-air traffic controllers who have missed their pay checks. He lamented that aviation employees can’t afford life’s expenses at this time. He maintained that as the shutdown continues there will be more pressures on those who are working as fellow colleagues will seek a second job to get money to meet their needs. Consequently, passengers will likely experience delays in services.
He also demanded that the media ask of the Democrats why they have shutdown the government.
The VP, along with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Union Boss Sean O’Brien from the Teamsters Union, and Scott Kirby CEO of United Airlines also spoke to the press. Meanwhile, other and Aviation CEOs were also present at the White House the press conference.
